Born and raised in San Diego, Amanda Schwartz is a skilled and passionate personal injury associate attorney at HHJ Trial Attorneys. She is proud to have attended both college and law school in San Diego, and she is deeply committed to serving her local community. With her experience in the legal industry, Amanda has helped numerous clients obtain justice and compensation for their injuries.
After earning her undergraduate degree in Political Science at the University of California, San Diego, Amanda went on to earn her law degree from California Western School of Law. While at law school, Amanda earned an Academic Merit Scholarship during all three years of her education. She also obtained eight Academic Excellence awards in classes such as Legal Writing, Trial Practice, California Evidence, and Advanced Legal Research. She served on the board of her school’s law review journal as an Executive Editor. Amanda graduated law school third in her class out of approximately two hundred students.
Throughout law school, Amanda enjoyed opportunities to experience various areas of the law through multiple internships. While interning for the San Diego Public Defenders Office, she assisted her supervising attorneys with preliminary examinations and trial preparation. During her internship at the San Diego City Attorney’s Office, she earned first place in the office’s Closing Argument Competition. Amanda was a judicial extern for the Honorable William H. Gallo, a San Diego judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District. As a judicial extern, Amanda gained valuable experience in case management as well as settlement proceedings.
In addition to her legal work, Amanda is an active member of the San Diego legal community. She is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association as well as the San Diego Lawyer’s Club. Through her participation in these organizations, she stays up to date on the latest developments in personal injury law and connects with other legal professionals.
In her free time, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family, including a twelve-year-old son and a border collie mix named Sadie. She enjoys running, watching her son’s baseball games, and taking Sadie to the dog park.
