Caitlin Van Voorst is an associate attorney at HHJ Trial Attorneys. Caitlin focuses on helping people that have been injured in car accidents, motorcycle accidents, and are victims of sexual assault. She also specializes in helping adults and children that have been physically and emotionally injured due to sexual assault and molestation. She thrives on empowering women, men and children to speak up about injuries and to tell their stories.
Caitlin’s interest in law was driven by a desire to develop the skills necessary to help those in need. She graduated cum laude from California Western School of Law and had an impressive background as a law student.
While in law school, Caitlin was recruited to be a member of the Moot Court Appellate Team where she competed in areas ranging from criminal procedure to asylum law. While competing at the highest caliber, Caitlin was awarded first place in both brief writing and oral advocacy. Due to her exemplary advocacy skills, Caitlin was also the recipient of the Dennis P. Mahoney award and scholarship for inter-school competition performance. She remains active in the moot court program and now serves as a coach, teaching law students to compete in other moot court competitions throughout the country.
In addition to her advocacy, Caitlin has been inducted into the National Order of Scribes, a national legal writing organization open only by invitation for exemplary writing. Caitlin utilizes her exceptional writing skills to help each HHJ injury and employment client to receive justice in the courtroom. Caitlin was also chosen to work as a law clerk for Federal District Court Judge Anthony Battaglia as a law student where she learned how to navigate Federal Court and civil practice.
Caitlin is passionate about giving back to her community. During law school she volunteered with the Legal Aid Society of San Diego, offering free legal services to those in need. Her time there earned her an Outstanding Service Award, given to volunteer attorneys for their dedication and service, and was inducted into the Pro Bono Honors Society.
When Caitlin is not working hard for her clients, she enjoys paddle boarding and enjoying the beaches of San Diego.
