How do I pay my medical bills until I get my settlement?
My name is Elliott Jung, and I am a personal injury attorney and one of the law partners at HHJ Trial Attorneys. One of the biggest questions that my clients have is, “What do I do with all these medical bills?”.
Well, you really have a couple of different options after you’ve been involved in a car accident. One is something called med-pay. Inside your insurance, there’s a provision that allows you to pay these early on medical bills right away and so you’ll have that option. If that’s in your insurance policy, we can do something called a medical lead where we contact all the different providers that have given you medical service and then ask them to stay all those bills until your settlement comes. If we can’t do either one of those things, then you will be responsible for your medical bills until you receive your final settlement.
